Heart Health Tip
Eat more soluble fiber. Soluble fiber lowers cholesterol and helps lower blood sugar by prolonging stomach emptying time so that sugar is released and absorbed more slowly. Examples of foods high in soluble fiber include oats/oat bran, barley, dried beans and peas, flax seeds, some fruits (oranges and apples) and vegetables (carrots) and psyllium husk. |
